But as the Penrod children grew up, pursued their own paths, and moved away to build lives elsewhere, the momentum slowed. Like grapes left untended, the brand quietly dried on the vine, while the family focused on new chapters.

Now, in 2026—the year America celebrates its 250th anniversary—Great American Beef Jerky is back, stronger and more vibrant than ever. With the next generation of the Penrod family returning home and bringing fresh energy, passion, and ideas, we’re reigniting the flame that started it all. This isn’t just a relaunch; it’s a homecoming. A renewed promise to honor our roots while embracing the future.
